Recipe of the month - Chickpea Nuggets

If you do not have a taste for McDonalds, frozen chicken nuggets, or vegetarian, then make your own chickpea nuggets. Perfect for hanging out with friends as an afternoon snack. This vegan gluten free approach to everyone’s favorite dipping snack food only takes 20 minutes to make. The combination of garlic powder and granulated onion bring a new flavor that is not in your typical chicken nugget. Paring it with your favorite dipping sauce makes the meal a home run.  

Serving Size: 20


1 15.5 oz. Can Chickpeas, drained

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon granulated onion

1-tablespoon nutritional yeast

1-tablespoon corn crumbs

1/3-cup corn crumbs for coating


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Pour the drained chickpeas into a food processor and process for a few seconds.

  3. Then add all of the other ingredients will mix and chunky texture. Process a few more seconds. Everything will be well-mixed and chunky texture.

  4. Scoop up teaspoon sixed globs and roll them into balls then smash them into nugget shape.

  5. Pour corn crumbs into a bowl and coat each nugget with the corn crumbs.

  6. Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Lay each nugget on the parchment, but do not let them touch.  

  7. Bake for 20 minutes, then flip and bake for 10 more.

  8. Allow nuggets to cool before eating.

  9. Pick you favorite dipping sauce and enjoy some healthy vegan nugget.
